Answers to my 11 questions from Cals:

What area do you live in, and why do you love it?

I live in Durban, South Africa. I am a born and bred Durbanite- Never left this city for anything longer than a holiday! All my most treasured memories have been made in this little city by the sea. The weather is always superb! Our ocean is warm ALL year round. People are friendly, shopping is fantastic and most importantly all the people I am closest to are here (bar tazzi who recently moved to JHB). I love the lifestyle I lead here. Wouldn't dream of ever changing it.

Which 4 people would you invite to a dinner party?

Nelson Mandela
Anna Wintour
Maya Angelou
Richard Branson

Where did you or where do you want to get married?

I got married at my parents home in Mount Edgecombe Estate. I battled to find a wedding venue (after looking at a whopping 22 venues- I know ... Madness!) No venue could cater for what I wanted. I didnt want the traditional 10 tables of 10, main table etc. I wanted a more relaxed style wedding. More cocktails and canape style. BIG sweetie table, sushi, flowing strawberry dacquiris and Mojitos, the likes. So we chose to have it at my parents stunning home. My wedding was just how I had always imagined it, intimate, personal and special. Grant and I had been dating for 8 years before we got married so my parents home was filled with memories of us growing up together. Its awesome that we get to visit our wedding venue so often now :)

Do you believe in love at first sight?

ABSOLUTELY! I will never ever forget the way I felt when Grant and my eyes met for the first time. Difficult to explain in words but so easy to remember that feeling. Truly incredible!

What would you name your son/daughter one day?

Oh this is a tough one. My baby names change ALL the time. At the moment I like Luke, Roake and Jake for a boy and Cayla, Elle and Ava for a girl.

Where would you like to go on your next holiday, and why?

Shew! There are a few that are on my list, will name my top three- Greece, Italy, Cancun Mexico

What was your favorite school subject, and why?

I loved Biology. I just found it so incredibly interesting & looked forward to every lesson. Also our teacher, Mrs Baxter was just awesome too!

What would you tell your 18 year old self now?

TRAVEL once you have finished your degree.
One of my only regrets is not traveling after I had graduated. I was too eager to get stuck into the corporate world and earn a salary. Wish I had been brave enough to do it when I had the chance.

Who is your best friend, and why? (include a pic)

I have so many friends who I can call a best friend. But a friend whom I grew up with, whom I have the most memories with is Tarryn aka Tazzilicious. She was my first friend at play school waaaaay back when we were 4 and ever since then we have stuck together like glue. She is more of a sister to me than a friend.  We have SO many memories, memories we often look back on and enjoy a second time around, all the imaginative games played as children, the discos, sleepovers, make ups and heartbreaks, our many boyfriends, and boyfriend sharing or should I say swapping or STEALING (hehe) throughout our school career, the many parties and hangovers throughout our varsity careers, all the drama that comes with our working careers, her being my Maid of Honour, shew too many special moments to list. Throughout it all, we have grown together, closer and closer every day. I truly cherish our friendship and have never taken it for granted

When we were at preschool. Me on left, Tazzi right.
Tazzi left, me on the right

What is your current greatest goal to achieve?

To be successful. Not just work wise. As a wife, a friend, a daughter, a sister, a collegue and hopefully soon as a mom. I want to be successful in loving, appreciating, respecting and honoring each and every one of those closest to me. To also try every day to be a better person (cliche I know but its true), learn form my mistakes and never forget to give thanks for everything that I have been blessed with.

Tell your favorite joke.

I am terrible at jokes! Never remember them ...
