We all know I am a major fan of florals! Cath Kidston is ALL about florals! From kitchen to bedroom, outdoor, accessories, clothing, you name it, she has it, in floral! I put together some of my favorite items of hers. Her style is very similar to that of our SA local Lou Harvey

ann wintour

I am not sure if you have heard of the documentary called "The September Issue" it is about the most powerful woman in fashion, Ann Wintour, the editor of the American edition of Vogue, she has been the editor since 1988, and by now it has become commonplace to call her the most powerful woman in fashion. My husband and I watched it the other night and WOW, completely blown away by how one woman has such influence over what is 'in' and what goes out! She has the final say in fashion and has more influence over the fashion industry world wide than you could ever imagine.
You can make a film in Hollywood without Steven Spielberg's blessing, and you can publish software without Bill Gates's blessing, but you can't succeed in fashion without Anna's blessing
Devil Wear Prada (one of my most fav movies of all time) is a true story, Meryl Streeps character was based on Ann and the story was was inspired by the author, Lauren Weisberger's experience as Ann Wintours assistant.
After watching this documentary I have a new found love for Vogue and respect for Ann. She is incredible, with her brittle despot in round Chanel sunglasses she rules the world with her impeccable taste, terror and sarcasm.

So, go grab "The September Issue" and the latest edition of Vogue!*

my husband

I love
the way you smell
your smiling eyes
the way I feel when you have your arms around me
that you are always there when I need you
your ambition
the way you kiss me
your passion for illustration & design
that you let me hog the duvet cover (most of the time)
the fact that you tell me I am beautiful every day even if I wake up with scary hair
that you still open the door for me, after all these years
the way you dance
our weekend morning tea & rusks in bed
I love the the way you love me ♥

red is in

Lately I’ve been unable to shake the fact that what was once my least favorite colour is now one of my favorite colours. Not so much in clothing, although 'berry red' is super hot for winter fashion 2011, but in general decor and interior decorating. I have always been more of a white, blue, green and neutral colour kind of girl but over the past few months I’ve watched my new favorite colour combination become a bright, chinese red combined with a little bright yellow and blue. Who would of thought?

childrens books

I just love childrens books, I love the stories and illustration and with my hubby's unbelievable talent in illustration & graphic design I have really learned to appreciate the beauty in an illustrators work. Unfortunately there are very few inspirational childrens books in our local SA stores, I find most of the illustrations to be dull and stories rather boring. My friend, Natalie (see her blog here) also shares the same love for childrens books, she has introduced me to so many wonderful authors with books you can only really find overseas.

I have just ordered the below books online! Cannot WAIT to receive them in the post soon! Eeeek!

i heart market

YAY! Another I heart Market is just around the corner! So diarise this date and start saving your pennies!

ruffles & florals

As you all know, I absolutely adore florals! And while leading fashion brands & retailers overseas prepare for the flirtiest season of the year, Spring & Summer, us South Africans are preparing for Winter (boo hoo) ... BUT what's so wonderful about our South African weather is we dont really get much of a 'Winter', and Autumn, in my opinion, is always stunning and warm so us SA girls can join the rest of the fashion world by dousing ourselves in gorgeous floral and ruffles. The bright and pretty color combinations of the floral help produce a cheery vibe all throughout our Autumn & Winter, while the ruffles add delicacy and femininity. With Winter just looming around the corner, why not start the season off right, with a joyful attitude in colorful floral apparel?

How gorgeous is the D&G Spring/ Summer 2011 campaign?

I WANT every dress in this pic! How beautiful are they?
